An absolutely still duck pond off of Highway 1 near Moss Landing, California. I was shooting landscapes while my companions were shooting ducks. The area is private property but is part of the greater Elkhorn Slough drainage area. October, 2011.
Landscape / Mountains / Trees — Comments Off on Favorite Images From 2010–Snoqualmie Pass 24 Mar 11
Snoqualmie Pass crosses the Cascade Mountains on I-90 in the state of Washington. It is a popular ski resort with trailheads and opportunities for cross-country skiing, hiking and snowboarding. The trees disappeared up into the clouds on this day in late December.
This small orchard near Watsonville was inundated from heavy winter rains. The little tree seemed sad surrounded by so much water. I liked the reflections of the clouds and the other trees. Five bracketed exposures blended together.
This is one of my favorite shots. I very much like the blending of the two seasons. It was taken near Hope Valley, California, after the first snow of the season in October 2006.
This fresh snow was the first of the year in Hope Valley, south of Lake Tahoe on Highway 88 in California. The aspen continue to glow as Fall gives way to Winter.
The June Lake Loop is about 12 miles south of Lee Vining on Highway 395 in California. June Lake, Grant Lake, Silver Lake and Gull Lake are part of the loop. These aspen were along the shore of June Lake.
