kachemak Bay is to the southwest side of the Kenai Peninsula and is part of the larger Cook Inlet in Alaska. Low tide exposed the many rocks and gravel near the beach.
The Homer Spit juts five miles out into the Kachemak Bay. There are many shops, restaurants, fishing boats and colorful residents along the spit. It is a main focus for tourism in Homer.

The dark clouds over the bay contrasted with the snow on the shoulders of the mountains across the bay. The extreme contrasts made this a good candidate for black and white. Homer, Alaska, 2011.
An interesting house along the path that leads from the village of Ninilchik up to the Russian Orthodox Church in Ninilchik, Alaska. Ninilchik is located on the Sterling Highway about 40 miles south of the City of Kenai. Fishing and tourism are the main industries.
Lower and Upper Summit Lakes are alder and willow edge habitats next to open alpine slopes in the northeast Kenai Peninsula. The still water provided a nice mirror reflection.
