Cornwall–St. Ives Boats

Cornwall–Gyllyngdune Gardens

Photograph of the monolithic arch in Gyllyngdune Gardens, Falmouth, Cornwall, EnglandGyllyngdune Gardens are a few minutes walk from downtown Falmouth. The gardens are now a Falmouth park but once were part of an an earlier estate. The park has attractive formal gardens, a bandstand and a grotto. This photograph is of the monolithic arch which was erected to complement the domed seat of the grotto. It was done in the manner of Stonehenge, probably because of the interest in antiquities at the time.
