A small glacial lake along the Icefields Parkway. There are views of the Bow Glacier and the Crowfoot Glacier. I am still amazed by turquoise colored ice.

A look up into the snow storm dropping over the mountains. I was worried that I might need chains later in the day, but, fortunately, that didn’t happen. The storm added drama to an already magnificent view.

The Icefields Parkway is a side highway that connects Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. It travels by icefields, glaciers and some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in the world. A snow storm was coming in and obscured some of the peaks. The view may have been obscured, but it was mysterious and magical. This is a detail of Pulpit Peak.

Lake Louise is a popular resort about 35 miles from Banff. It is known for its beautiful turquoise waters which reflect the surrounding peaks. I hadn’t expected that it would still be frozen. The ice and snow had its own beauty.
