Still looking for a campsite for the night, we had to pull over for this sunset. This was several miles north of Hectea Head and just south of Florence. The fog quickly swallowed up the color. This light lasted less than five minutes.
We arrived at this beach below the Heceta Head Lighthouse too late to climb to the lighthouse. The fog rolling in made it seem darker than it actually was. At this point, we didn’t know where we would camp, so couldn’t stay long.
Humbug Mountain is 6 miles south of Port Orford, Oregon, along Highway 101. Humbug Mountain is 1,756 feet in elevation and drops dramatically to the Pacific.
