The Homer Spit juts five miles out into the Kachemak Bay. There are many shops, restaurants, fishing boats and colorful residents along the spit. It is a main focus for tourism in Homer.

The dark clouds over the bay contrasted with the snow on the shoulders of the mountains across the bay. The extreme contrasts made this a good candidate for black and white. Homer, Alaska, 2011.
An interesting house along the path that leads from the village of Ninilchik up to the Russian Orthodox Church in Ninilchik, Alaska. Ninilchik is located on the Sterling Highway about 40 miles south of the City of Kenai. Fishing and tourism are the main industries.
Just a beautiful moment over the ocean. Until I looked at this shot later, I didn’t realize the colors of the rainbow were an overlay on the water itself. I had imagined the rainbow was cut off at the horizon.
