Zephyr Point–Lake Tahoe 2

Photograph of sunrise over Lake Tahoe from Zephyr Point, NevadaThe Sierra Nevada mountains, as well as all of California, are in the grip of a relentless drought. That meant very cold temperatures but no snow or rain. The snow on the ground is left from a single storm in November. Even though there were no clouds, the lake reflected a little color from the rising sun.

Zephyr Point–Lake Tahoe

Photograph of sunrise over Lake Tahoe from Zephyr Point, NevadaWe spent several days over the New Year holiday staying in a cabin at Zephyr Point near South Lake Tahoe, Nevada. There is a small beach area with a dock that extends a short way out into the lake. I went down to the dock every morning for the sunrise. This was New Year’s Eve morning, a beautiful sunrise.
