I don’t shoot many urban scenes or architecture, but this sunset was too nice to pass up. Taken February 24, 2006.

Death Valley 2013–Zabriskie Point
The first evening of a three day visit to Death Valley National Park. Zabriskie Point is a highlight for most photographers but it is best at sunrise. It is common to jostle for tripod space and shooting angles in the morning light. We were here for a Park Ranger presentation. It was after sunset and no one else was shooting.

Boats–Sailboat
Living near the central California coast is a photographer’s dream. Light is often softened and filtered by the fog. Wildlife is abundant. Storms create dramatic skies and waves are always in motion. Moss Landing is my closest access to the ocean, but Monterey and Santa Cruz are not far away. Boats and fishing are the heart of Moss Landing. Over the next several weeks I will post some of my favorite shots of boats and harbors. This was taken from Moss Landing Beach in 2004.
