New Mexico—Ghost Ranch
An old cabin along the entrance road to Ghost Ranch, a retreat center near Albiquí, New Mexico. The Ghost Ranch has a colorful history and is, perhaps, best known by its association with the artist Georgia O’Keeffe who lived there at one time and found inspiration for many of her paintings. Today it is owned by the Presbyterian Church USA and is operated as a retreat center. It is open to the public.

New Mexico—Rio Grande River Gorge
The Rio Grande River Gorge is about 800 feet deep (240m) and is nearly 50 miles in length. It is very dramatic when viewed from the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, but, I imagine, it is much more dramatic when viewed from whitewater rapids. The Rio Grande river is part of the National Wild and Scenic River System and has Class II to Class V white water rapids.

The Taos Pueblo has been continuously inhabited for over 1000 years, the oldest such community in the United States. This sleeping dog caught my eye.

Cornwall–Pendennis Castle
Pendennis Castle has a long history of military importance. Henry VIII built it in the form it has today. Pendennis is where the royalists made a last stand against Oliver Cromwell, and where many of the troops took off for the D-Day landing in Normandy. It was and still is a military castle.
