The Yaquina Bay lighthouse was active for only three years until the Yaquina Head Light was commissioned in 1873. It is the only existing structure in Oregon which houses the living quarters in the same building as the light. Several rooms are furnished in late 19th century style. This was a blended exposure to balance the interior and exterior light.
