The Heceta Head lighthouse is probably the most photographed lighthouse along the Oregon coast. It sits 205 feet above the Pacific. Its beacon can be seen 21 miles from the land.
Ruby Beach is located on the southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula. Great piles of driftwood cover the stony beach. A number of sea stacks are close to the shore. The beach is named for the fragments of ruby gemstones found in the coarse sand there.
